We are honored to share this week’s Chinuch Podcast for Parsha Kedoshim from Rabbi Dr. Pinchas Hayman.  Rabbi Dr. Hayman completed a BA in Classics and Philosophy at UCLA Phi Beta Kappa, and rabbinical ordination at the Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University, New York in 1978. Concurrently, he received a Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Talmudics and Semitic Languages, with honors, from the Bernard Revel Graduate School.

After seven years in the congregational Rabbinate in Calgary, Canada, the Haymans made Aliyah in 1987 to Raanana. Rabbi Hayman served as the first Rabbi of Shivte Yisrael Congregation in Raanana, while conducting research and teaching at Bar Ilan University’s departments of Talmud and Education. He also served as the university’s Dean of Students, and directed the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education in the Diaspora.

After intensive research in the 1980’s and 1990’s into the challenges of teaching  Mishnah and Talmud in Israel and around the world, Rabbi Dr. Hayman founded a consulting firm named “Bonayich Educational Services, Ltd.” which is engaged in the production of curricula and teaching and learning materials for Mishnah and Talmud in primary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions.
